Grounding, Dedicated Ground, Isolated Ground (IG), and 200% Neutral Options
USA TrackBusway supports Standard Bonding / Equipment Grounding, Dedicated Ground, Isolated Ground, 200% Neutral, and 200% Neutral + Isolated Ground configurations where specified and supported by the selected system.
For 225A / T225 projects, available conductor configurations include Standard, Isolated Ground (IG), 200% Neutral (N2), and 200% Neutral + Isolated Ground (N2IG). These are not default features on every product. They must be selected and coordinated with the busway lengths, power feed units, tap-off units, receptacles or connector bodies, field wiring, voltage system, drawings, load calculations, and electrical engineer requirements.
Standard bonded configurations use the normal equipment-grounding path through the system/enclosure and compatible grounding connections. This is the standard approach for many Track Busway layouts.
Isolated-ground configurations maintain a separate insulated grounding path to compatible isolated-ground receptacles or equipment where specified. When isolated ground is specified, the selected busway, feed, tap-off, receptacle or connector body, and field wiring must preserve the intended isolated path. A component or field connection that bonds the isolated path to the standard equipment-grounding path can defeat the intended isolated-ground configuration.
200% neutral, also searched as 200 percent neutral or N2, is a project-specific 225A / T225 conductor configuration used when project load calculations and electrical specifications call for it. 200% neutral + isolated ground, also searched as N2IG, combines the 200% neutral and isolated-ground requirements in one coordinated 225A / T225 configuration.
USA TrackBusway does not sell loose standalone receptacles. Isolated-ground receptacle options, where available, are provided as part of compatible factory-assembled tap-off units.
Dedicated Ground / Bonded Ground Conductor
Dedicated Ground is a project-specific grounding configuration available where specified and supported. In a dedicated-ground configuration, an added internal grounding conductor is included and bonded to the equipment-grounding path and housing/enclosure ground.
This is different from isolated ground. In an isolated-ground configuration, the insulated grounding path is kept separate from the housing/enclosure ground through compatible busway, feed, tap-off, receptacle or connector body, and field wiring selections.
If a project specification uses “dedicated ground” language, USA TrackBusway can help confirm whether the intended requirement is Dedicated Ground, Isolated Ground, Standard Bonding / Equipment Grounding, or another project-specific grounding approach.
