Track Busway Safety, Listings, and Code Alignment
USA TrackBusway is ETL Listed to UL 857 busway standards for overhead plug-in busway applications and is designed in alignment with NEC Article 368 for busways. ETL Listing Scope
Confirm the selected busway, feeds, tap-offs, accessories, and protective-device combinations against the controlled Intertek listing documents applicable to that product family and configuration.

NEC Article 368 and AHJ Review
NEC Article 368 covers busway installations. The project must also satisfy other applicable NEC provisions, local amendments, approved project documents, and AHJ requirements.

Branch-Level Power Distribution
Track Busway provides overhead branch-circuit distribution. Coordinate higher-amperage service or feeder distribution within the project’s broader electrical design.

Project Documentation
Use current, component-specific documents for the selected system. Confirm revision, model scope, and approval status before submitting or installing.
Project Review Responsibilities
- Engineer: Define system application, electrical design, available fault current, protection, grounding, bonding, support, clearances, and project requirements.
- Contractor: Verify component and model applicability; install to approved drawings, current product-specific instructions, the NEC, local requirements, and site procedures.
- Inspector: Verify the installed work, labels, and documentation against applicable code and project requirements.
- AHJ: Interpret locally adopted requirements and determine installation approval.
Installation Safety Notes
This page is not an installation or energized-work procedure. Qualified personnel must follow applicable product instructions, approved project documents, the NEC, OSHA and NFPA 70E requirements, site procedures, and AHJ direction.
- Where applicable instructions permit a breakered tap-off to be installed, removed, relocated, or reinstalled while the busway remains energized, keep its integral breaker OFF throughout the operation.
- Switch the breaker ON only after the tap-off is fully installed or reinstalled and secured.
- Follow product-specific instructions for lighting and other non-breakered devices.
