TrackBusway Outlet Boxes

Track Busway outlet boxes are plug-in tap-off boxes that keep receptacle access mounted directly at the busway run. Use outlet boxes when power should remain overhead rather than hanging below on a cord. This collection includes breakered and unbreakered options where supported, plus 40A and T225-compatible outlet box paths. Confirm system compatibility, voltage, pole count, breaker protection, receptacle, and grounding before selection.

Why Use Track Busway Outlet Boxes?

Track Busway outlet boxes provide box-style plug-in power access directly at the busway when power should remain overhead instead of hanging below on a cord.

They are available for 120V, 208Y/240V, and selected 3-phase applications, with both breakered and non-breakered options depending on where circuit protection is needed.

When power must be brought lower in the space to reach equipment below the run, compare outlet boxes with drop cords.

Breakered & Unbreakered Outlet Boxes

Outlet boxes plug directly into the Track Busway system, providing safe, accessible plug-in power exactly where it’s needed. 

  • Breakered PowerTaps provide circuit protection and accessible overhead power for tools, equipment, and appliances.
  • Unbreakered outlet boxes are used when protection is provided downstream.

All units plug directly into Track Busway and can be repositioned without rewiring.

For applications where power needs to be dropped lower in the space, drop cords provide a flexible alternative to outlet boxes while keeping distribution overhead.

Breakered PowerTaps

Pole count refers to the internal breaker configuration of the plug-in unit, not the physical track.

1-Pole tap-offs connect one hot and the neutral to deliver 120V (line-to-neutral)

2-Pole tap-offs connect two hots (no neutral) to deliver 208V single-phase or 240V (line-to-line)

3-Pole tap-offs engage all three hots and the neutral to support 208V or 480V three-phase, four-wire configurations

For example, a 3-pole plug-in may be installed on a four-conductor (3-phase, L-L-L-N) Track Busway to serve three-phase loads with a neutral present.
