A 120V circuit uses one phase conductor and neutral, with an equipment-grounding path. The fitting connects to the conductors; it does not convert the supply voltage.
T225 example: L1 + N; the grounded housing provides the separate grounding path. This family diagram illustrates conductor selection. Use the reel assembly documents for its fitted connection.
For 225A Track Busway (T225). This reel supplies one 120V, 20A branch through a 1-pole breakered tap-off. Busway support requires threaded rod larger than 1/4 in. nominal diameter. 1/4-20 rod is not permitted.
The T225 Track Busway READY retractable cord reel combines a reel with a compatible breakered tap-off assembly. It provides retractable overhead power access from T225 busway. Its calibrated spring supports controlled pull-down and smooth return, so the cord can be brought to the equipment for a task and stowed afterward.
Retractable power along equipment rows
Consider a cord reel at work cells, assembly benches or service positions where power access is needed intermittently. Plan each reel around the equipment and the person using it, rather than placing connections at uniform intervals without considering the work below.
How should you plan the cord reach?
Measure from the proposed reel position to the equipment connection point, accounting for the overhead mounting height and any sideways reach. Leave a clear route around machines, benches and other services. The stated cord length is not the same as the horizontal distance the reel can serve.
Plan for repeated pull-down use
Check where the connector will be accessed and how the cord will be guided during return. Allow operating clearance around the reel and along the cord path. Review the busway support requirement in the selected specifications and the selected assembly instructions when coordinating the layout.
Plays muted; use the controls to pause or enable sound. The clip shows a standard T225 tap-off. Follow the cord reel’s own mounting instructions and support requirement: threaded rod larger than 1/4 in. nominal diameter (1/4-20 rod is not permitted).
Plan your T225 cord-reel installation
Use the video to understand how a standard T225 tap-off connects. Coordinate the cord reel’s mounting and operating clearance using its own assembly documents.
Support the busway for a cord reel
Threaded rod must be larger than 1/4 in. nominal diameter. 1/4-20 rod is not permitted.
Confirm the reel location, cord reach and receptacle configuration before ordering.
