With double-deck track busway, the third phase of the 3-phase supplied power is tapped via the factory installed whip cord.

Three Phase Double-deck steel track busway includes (2) phases on the bottom and (1) on the top. Factory installed track busway fittings tap the (2) lower deck phases, and the third phase on the top deck.

Overhead Power Distribution

Steel Track Busway is not simply lighting track, it is a power distribution system. Because of this, Steel Track Busway is capable of delivering power to items beyond just light fixtures (such as power drops to floor fixtures, etc). This is unlike mere lighting track, which per the National Electrical Code, Article 410.151A, allows for only lighting fixtures to be used with track.
