208V / 480V Three-Phase Busway Tap-Off Units

3-Pole plug-in units support 3-phase distribution by providing access to A, B, and C conductors (with neutral available where required). These tap-offs are used for higher-load equipment such as 3-phase motors and industrial machinery.

Use this page to browse 3-Pole drop cords and confirm wiring compatibility for 208V or 480V systems.

For an overview of how Track Busway delivers flexible, code-compliant overhead power, see Track Busway for Power.

Overhead Plug-In Power Drops for 3-Phase Systems

When full 3-phase power is required, our 4-pole plug-in units deliver all three hot legs (A, B, and C) plus neutral—supporting:

-208V from a 120/208V panel
-480V from a 277/480V panel

These units are essential for higher-load applications like 3-phase motors, industrial machines, or large commercial systems.

Breakered PowerTaps

Pole count refers to the internal breaker configuration of the plug-in unit, not the physical track.

1-Pole tap-offs connect one hot and the neutral to deliver 120V (line-to-neutral)

2-Pole tap-offs connect two hots (no neutral) to deliver 208V single-phase or 240V (line-to-line)

3-Pole tap-offs engage all three hots and the neutral to support 208V or 480V three-phase, four-wire configurations

For example, a 3-pole plug-in may be installed on a four-conductor (3-phase, L-L-L-N) Track Busway to serve three-phase loads with a neutral present.

Three Phase Double-deck steel track busway includes (2) phases on the bottom and (1) on the top. Factory installed track busway fittings tap the (2) lower deck phases, and the third phase on the top deck.

This collection includes 3-Pole Track Busway plug-in products designed for 208V and 480V three-phase power distribution, including PowerDrop cords used for motors and industrial equipment.

Overhead Power Distribution

Steel Track Busway is not simply lighting track, it is a power distribution system. Because of this, Steel Track Busway is capable of delivering power to items beyond just light fixtures (such as power drops to floor fixtures, etc). This is unlike mere lighting track, which per the National Electrical Code, Article 410.151A, allows for only lighting fixtures to be used with track.
