Michael “Mike” Gellert

President of USA TrackBusway®

Michael “Mike” Gellert is President of USA TrackBusway®, where he works directly with electrical contractors, distributors, engineers, facility teams, and end users who need overhead power that can be planned, ordered, and adapted without turning every change into a custom wiring project.

Michael’s connection to track, busway, and modular overhead infrastructure started long before USA TrackBusway®. He is the son of Larry Gellert, a longtime lighting, product, and track systems innovator who graduated from the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning.

While at DAAP, Larry turned his co-op into his own company and invented Aqua-Light, a decorative water-and-bubble light. Larry eventually sold the business before joining Lightolier, where he worked during a period when lighting track was expanding beyond primarily museum applications into homes, architectural spaces, retail, and commercial environments.

Larry later became a stakeholder in Litelab, where he supported BusRun and broader lighting busway applications before moving on to start busSTRUT. That history around electrical busway gave Michael an early view of what makes modular overhead systems succeed in the real world: contractors need a system that installs cleanly, distributors need something they can confidently support, and end users need power access that can move as their space changes.

That experience is what shapes USA TrackBusway®. The focus is straightforward: manufacture open-channel track busway systems that are easier to understand, easier to configure, and easier to apply across industrial, commercial, laboratory, data center, and mission-critical projects.

From 40A per phase systems to 225A per phase platforms, Michael’s goal is to help customers choose the right configuration, understand the available power drops and tap-off options, and get practical support from the first layout conversation through ordering and installation.
